Peter Ashcroft grew up in California's Central Valley as the oldest of seven children. His educational path took him from Caltech to Carnegie Mellon University, where he received a doctorate in Engineering and Public Policy.
Peter has supported various environmental advocacy organizations over decades, and was privileged in 2005 to receive the Roger Revelle Fellowship in Global Stewardship through the American Association for the Advancement of Science. That fellowship took him to Washington, DC, where he had the opportunity to work in the office of a US senator for one year, before joining an advocacy organization working to pass US climate legislation.
Peter is currently a data scientist for a not-for-profit organization responsible for ensuring electric reliability.
Peter lives with his wife in Salt Lake City, where he is an avid hiker and rock climber.
