Serena Anderson began a B.S. in Business Administration from her hometown on Calfirnia’s Central Coast and finished her studies in Salt Lake City. Her intention was to build a career in accounting, peaceful in the certain routines of finance. However, when a childhood mentor invited her to serve on the board of directors for the Boys & Girls Club (where she grew up), she immediately fell in love with nonprofit work. Since that time Serena has spent more than two decades in nonprofit leadership and management.
Specializing in developing programs, building boards and committees, strategic planning, human resources, operations, marketing, special events and fundraising, Serena has focused on helping emerging nonprofits reach their potential. She has worked with a variety of missions including youth development, business development, animal welfare, and environmental stewardship and education. Over time Serena has felt something missing from her work, a connection to the gospel. LDS Earth Stewardship has provided the opportunity to utilize her love for the greater good and match it with personal testimony for God’s Creation.
